- Oh Yeah, We Have A Record Out
Just a small reminder that Brother JT does indeed have an album out on the Thrill Jockey Label called THE SVELTENESS OF BOOGIETUDE. We're right on the cusp of turning a profit with this one, so if you haven't checked it out yet, please go to here --there are sound samples for your approval, it's available in CD, Vinyl, or digital, and we happen to think it's a pretty good listen. Thanks to everyone who has bought one--it means a lot to us.

- NEW OLD STUFF IN CDR FORM!
In our continuing effort to clean up this dump, we came upon several live recordings of Brother JT, listened to them, took a long drive, mulled it over, ate something, listened to them again, and then decided to cobble together a live CD for anyone who might be interested. The result, THIS MUD'S FOR YOU, was derived from mono board tapes that stretch back to 1998, though primarily document 2 Khyber Pass shows from 2001-2002. Sound is a bit rough, but performances (featuring alternating lineups of the 4-piece, including Art DiFuria on 2nd guitar) are quite spiffy if we don't say so ourselves.
In other news, 2 Brother JT shows coming up this month: Fri. Oct 12 birthday bash @ Strange Brew in Allentown, and Sat. Oct 20 @ the Funhouse in Bethlehem with TQI: totally different sets and lineups, so please come out to one or both...
- NEW BROTHER JT VINYL ON THRILL JOCKEY IN 2013
Not a great deal going on in the Bro-niverse just now. Sun comes up, goes down a little later, people are nice. Come springtime 2013, however, we are pleased to hope that the esteemed Chicago based indie label Thrill Jockey Records will be releasing the latest Brother JT album, THE SVELTENESS OF BOOGIETUDE on 12" vinyl and digital download.
The recording, which features JT's first use of actual strings (violin by Rachel Lambdin) on several songs, as well as substantial sax contributions from Dave Smith, was recorded in the winter of 2011-12, and semi-released in CDR form around Easter of this year. In additon, we hope that with the LP's release on Thrill Jockey, Brother JT can actually manage to do a little touring in support of what we feel is one of his better efforts.
"T Rex Blues", a track from the album, can be streamed from the music player.
In other news, the reconstituted Original Sins, featuring Jamie Mahon (bs), and Mike Kiker(org) from the Philly trio St James & the Apostles, as well as stalwart timekeeper Jamie Knerr, look forward to renewing old ties with the legendary Swinging Neckbreakers when they share a bill with them at Bowery Electric in NYC Thursday September 27--see shows for more details.
More news if and when it happens...
