5.23.07: NEW BROTHER JT RECORD!

We're all nipple-y to announce the release of "Purgatory, Sweet Purgatory, a new four song EP by Brother JT. Because it is a very limited edition pressing on clear 8"(!) vinyl. Because the songs--"Sweet Purgatory", "That's What They All Say", "Throwaway" and "Estranged"--rekindle the mellow-ncholy glow of the Brud's last outing, Indoor Sunshine (two were taken from the same sessions). And because it's a little chilly in here, ahem...Available from Summersteps Records.
11.18.06: New (old) stuff...

Pleased as grain alcohol-spiked punch to mention the release of a new best-of the Original Sins, this one pressed up professionally, with the color inserts and the jewel box and the what-have-you...Fuzz and Sunshine vol. 1 covers the band's better known material from it's decade-plus existence and is currently available in Ye Olde Shoppe...while on the subject, the Sins would like to thank all the wonderful folks who made our trip to the Bay Area last weekend such a refreshing blast of warm, vibratory revelation...
10.25.06: MAGENTA SHOW ALERTS: Firstly, Brother JT2 or 3 (depends who can fit in the car) will help Summersteps Records celebrate 10 years of existence on Sat. Nov. 4th...

...while the following weekend finds the Original Sins paying a return visit to the Bay Area (it's only been 14 YEARS) for shows on 11/10 atHemlock Tavern in SF and 11/11 at the Stork Club in Oakland, as part of the annual Budget Rock Showcase...

9.07.06: Oh me, oh my, another two months slipped right on by there. Funny thing about Time, it's like a raccoon greased with vaseline sliding on ice into another dimension sometimes, one where people go through raccoons' garbage. Wouldn't that be something! Anyway, you will note the presence of another webpage here at Brudda Central, the Jesus Guitar. It is a rambling reminiscence of the places where Jesus, acid rock, and our friend The Sun met and oozed into one another in Br JT's fevered frying pan/brain with 2 eggs sunny side over easy any questions?
Written originally as a chapbook to be published by Arthur Magazine's Bastet Press, where it may be available soon, we've decided to offer an online version, well, for the sake of the damn trees, man...
2.4.06: New Product

The results of the below-mentioned Sins reunion/recording at WFMU have somehow found their way onto CDR--check Ye Olde Shoppe for the sordid details...
12/05 : The results of an Original Sins stealth semi-reunion back in November can now be heard via the archives of WFMU. The hour-long live set featured numerous Sins non-hits performed by former members JT, Dan McKinney, and Seth Baer, with the great Art DiFuria, courtesy the Photon band, sitting in on bass. We hope to transmogrify said recording into compact disc form soon...

And, for the digitally inclined, just thought we'd mention that through Birdman-O-Phone, Birdman Records' online label, ITUNES users (as well as Napster and Rhapsody subscribers) can now download tracks from Lets Get Wet, a kind of lost Brother JT album from the 1990's. It actually contains earlier, very different versions of "Very Beautiful" and "Dear Mr. Sun", songs which turn up on JT's latest effort, Indoor Sunshine (see below). In addition, it would seem that his latest Birdman effort, 2004's Off Blue, is available there now as well...
Just thought we'd mention that JT's latest recorded effort, Off Blue , got a little write-up in the April issue of Mojo Magazine ...

Also, for those interested, here's a nice review of Off Blue from Billboard.com...and here's another from Worldlyremains.com and yet another from Xrayrecords.ca...Just a reminder, Off Blue may be purchased online directly from Birdman records, or from Amazon.com, as well as a host of other web-based stores.
