Brother JT 3 (featuring the Drag City Memorial Rhythm Section) hopes to exorcize his post-Easter demons via the bar chord method this Thursday April 16 at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave. in the 'City of Windy Shoulders', Chicago. It is a toddling town, evidently. A nice little thingie from TimeOut Chicago can be found right about...here.

It's deja vu all over again, as Brother JT 3 in sit-down, fun-strummin', acoustico mode attempt to open for the Creatures of the Golden Dawn (for whom the Brudduh also plays lead guitar) this Fri. night, 3/27 @ the Funhouse, 5 E. 4th St. in Bethlehem, PA.
And hey, for an idea of what Brother JT 3 sounds and looks like at full volume, here are the lads essaying the song "Summer" in the ever popular live video format...it might take a while, and then I think you gotta click the thingy.

10..19.08: NEW BROTHER JT3 ALBUM
Yes, sportsfans, its that time again. As of Tue. 10/21/08, Drag City Records will release Jelly Roll Gospel, the latest offering from Brother JT3. It's a full-on band recording, (as opposed to ol' windy's last effort, the loop-driven, solo Third Ear Candy), replete with fuzzy grooves, bluesy flubs, and woozy moods, guaranteed to make you go, 'huh?'. A sampler from the album should be playing even now to give you a better idea of whatsa happ'nin behbeh.
Fittingly, for such a moss-growing, muddy root affair, Jelly Roll Gospel is being released ONLY as a lim. ed. "12 vinyl album and as a digital download at places like Itunes, et.al. In the interest of those who are turntable challenged, Ye Olde Shoppe will soon offer a CDR handmade version for the usual pittance.
And, as if that wasn't enough, Brother JT3 will be celebrating the record's release with a show in...Cleveland, Oh., of course. This coming Sat. at Bela Dubby, 13321 Madison Ave., Lakewood, Ohio, the boys will be joined by Tinka and Tired Eyes for an evening of sophisticated frugging and incoherence until the cows return to their place of domicile. Do come out, won't you?
9.25.08: LAST POSSIBLE MINUTE SHOW ALERT: It would appear that Brother JT 4 will be performing this Saturday Sept 27 as part of the Lehigh Ave. Arts Festival taking place outside on the 2500 block of Lehigh Ave. in Philadelphia. Its a FREE event. The proceedings start at noon and go throughout the day, with BRJT4 hitting the pavement about 7:30--unless it rains, then things move to the nearby Green Rock Tavern and go a bit later. Incidentally, best of luck to the Phillies, they may need it.

Because the songs--"Sweet Purgatory", "That's What They All Say", "Throwaway" and "Estranged"--rekindle the mellow-ncholy glow of the Brud's last outing, Indoor Sunshine (two were taken from the same sessions). The results of the below-mentioned Sins reunion/recording at WFMU have somehow found their way onto CDR--check Ye Olde Shoppe for the sordid details...
12/05 : The results of an Original Sins stealth semi-reunion back in November can now be heard via the archives of WFMU. The hour-long live set featured numerous Sins non-hits performed by former members JT, Dan McKinney, and Seth Baer, with the great Art DiFuria, courtesy the Photon band, sitting in on bass. We hope to transmogrify said recording into compact disc form soon...
And, for the digitally inclined, just thought we'd mention that through Birdman-O-Phone, Birdman Records' online label, ITUNES users (as well as Napster and Rhapsody subscribers) can now download tracks from Lets Get Wet, a kind of lost Brother JT album from the 1990's. It actually contains earlier, very different versions of "Very Beautiful" and "Dear Mr. Sun", songs which turn up on JT's latest effort, Indoor Sunshine (see below). In addition, it would seem that his latest Birdman effort, 2004's Off Blue, is available there now as well...
Just thought we'd mention that JT's latest recorded effort, Off Blue , got a little write-up in the April issue of Mojo Magazine ...
